It's how you tell it

November 2010
Following on from the branding work by London design consultancy tothepoint, seanhanna salons asked them to create a new advertising campaign for 2011. Lead designer Mark Stevens came up with a new, typographic 'show & tell' device that has been approved for use throughout 2011 on posters, across the group's salons as well as in trade and local press. The intriguing device was completed just in time to be used on the cover of the seanhanna salons coffee table book that is currently in production. The book shows a range of past and current styles as well as some of their more adventurous avant-garde styles.
Simon Hutton, MD at tothepoint said "At our first meeting, Sean was talking through some of the Salons' ideas and showing some of the styles they were entering into the BHA London Hairdresser of the Year Awards 2010. The photography really captured our imagination and we knew straight away that this imagery had to be king." tothepoint were able to select from these high quality, original photographs and combine them with the visual language they had created for other branding materials.
Sean Hanna added "We were so focused on the awards and the photography that we didn't see them as part of the campaign. As soon as tothepoint highlighted their strength and showed us the 'show & tell' mark we knew we were on to a winner".
The photography formed part of the Group's entry of Skyler McDonald of seanhanna Putney into the BHA 'London Hairdresser of the Year' awards 2010 – a prestigious award they have now won. The picture here shows Skyler receiving her award from Jonathan Ross. Above are the approved visuals featuring three of the final selection of styles. We look forward to developing these for the ads and posters.
