Newsprinters - makes the news
The London bridge based design consultancy, to the point, is currently working on a branding project that is part of News International Ltd £650 million investment to build three new state-of-the-art print factories in the UK. The new company, Newsprinters, uses the very latest technology to print the four News International Ltd titles - The Sun, The Times, The Sunday Times and the News of the World. The three sites are opening across the country during 2007 with the largest in Broxbourne that will house 12 impressive new presses. The brand identity has been launched to the staff as part of the change programme that was initiated 3 years ago. It went live in a soft launch through national recruitment advertising for additional staff to join Newsprinters. As part of the project work that has been carried out over the last year, to the point are providing designs for the interior graphics for all three sites, plus signage and wayfinding. Marketing material, workwear, external & internal literature and a website are also underway. Nikki Gay, Senior Designer, comments, “This is a fantastic opportunity to create a brand and implement it across all types of disciplines. It’s not just about producing a perception aimed at external audiences but also working on the culture change internally, creating an understanding of their new brand and its importance. Newsprinters is introducing an entirely new working culture for employees so brand values and awareness are very much a part of this change.” Kevin Cox, Creative Director, says, “It's not very often you get the opportunity to develop a working relationship with a client to the point where they have complete confidence in what you do across all their communications. From brand creation to advertising, from interior to exterior graphics, Newsprinter's attitude has always been 'lets work together to create something unique’ to reflect their vision. Consequently, we feel that what we have produced is something really powerful both in terms of signage, graphics and copywriting. More clients like this please." Simon Hutton, Managing Director explains, “The logo concept
is based on a
globe to echo the News International and News Corporation identity
and the swirl effect represents paper and the continuous process
from reel to
finished newspapers. The green was selected to represent the 'green'
credentials of the new business and its processes. This is a great
project
for us and hopefully the start of a long term working relationship
