TTP Get Street Legal

To the point has created the new logo for the Criminal Defence Service after a competitive pitch from the Legal Services Commission. The CDS, administered by the Legal Services Commission, comes into effect on 2 April and replaces the existing criminal legal aid arrangements.

The purpose of the CDS is to ensure that people suspected or accused of a crime have access to advice, assistance and representation through quality assured suppliers, as the interests of justice require.

The CDS, created by the Access to Justice Act 1999, is part of the Government's fundamental reform of the legal aid system. The new logo will provide members of the public with the assurance that their interests are being best represented by a quality assured supplier.

The logo will be used by law firms, contracted to the CDS, on letterheads, window displays and advertisements, and as a result will be seen throughout England and Wales from 2 April.

“Simplicity and the credibility of the offer formed the basis of our thinking... the CDS administers an important portal for advice and representation when most needed. The identity provides a new quality mark and common service standard for those seeking advice and representation on criminal matters” said Simon Hutton, managing director of to the point.
