Breaking down the ABPI Industry/Academic links survey

Since 2003, the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) have undertaken a survey every two years from member companies on collaborations with academic institutions. We were pleased to work with them on their 2022 survey, helping them break down the results and explore the trends in collaborations between industry and academic institutions.

Explainer video

As part of the project, we were asked to produce a short animated video giving a quick overview of the purpose of the survey and some of 2022’s key findings. Using a script and voiceover provided by the client, we wanted to support the narrative with simple yet effective visuals, so as not to distract but to help illustrate the videos key messages.

To find out more about how we plan, design and create animations in more detail, read our animation process presentation.

Infographics

To further support the findings of the survey and to build upon the short animated explainer video, we created a suite of animated assets. These short looping animations contain key statements of each of the 5 survey topics and each message is supported again with a simple abstract illustration. These assets are ideal for social media, grabbing the attention of your audience, helping to educate them and enticing them to engage further.

Every two years when we come to publish our biennial industry-academic links survey data, we explore new ideas for presenting the data in order to help us and the industry present the findings in an engaging and impactful way. We have been pleased to work with TTP, who produced a brilliant suite of professional animations and graphics to complement and bring our data to life.
