16-21 March IMPACT! exhibition

In a unique new project, leading UK science researchers, funded by EPSRC, have been working with designers from the Royal College of Art to visualise the potential impact of scientific developments and how they might effect the way we live in future Britain. The results can be seen in an extraordinary exhibition offering a powerful insight into how today’s research might transform our experience of the world.

The exhibition is free and is open to the public from 16-21st March (11am-5.30).

3-17 April Edinburgh Science Festival
EPSRC is proud to act as Major Funding Partner to the Edinburgh Festival for 2010 and 2011 and will be sponsoring a number of events including a talk by Chris Cooper as part of the Big Ideas series and a major healthcare exhibit that explores the science of blood with Dr Clot’s Blood Curdling Adventure and the Blood Bar experiments!

9-13 June Cheltenham Science Festival

EPSRC is pleased to continue as Principal Sponsor for the Cheltenham Science Festival for a second year and will be sponsoring a variety of events from talks and debates to a touring road show of some of the installations from the IMPACT! exhibition and an IMPACT! trail around the Discover Zone.

March 2010 - IMPACT! Art

A mixed-media exhibition of original works of art will explore the relationship between science and society, looking at the different types of impact that engineering and the physical sciences have on the world. The exhibition is a joint venture with the Royal College of Art and is also sponsored by NESTA. Artists and researchers will be blogging about their experiences in the run up to the month-long exhibition at the Royal College of Art which will be followed by a travelling exhibit of some of the works of art.
