Lloyd’s Register Foundation – Safer World Conference 2022

In light of the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) taking place in Glasgow over the first two weeks of November, we’re excited to share the branding, and some of the initial social media post assets, we have created for Lloyd’s Register Foundation’s ‘Safer World Conference 2022’, which will be in May next year.

The conference will take place at Old Billingsgate www.oldbillingsgate.co.uk and will bring together thought leaders from research, business, government, and other sectors to discuss the biggest safety challenges facing the world and develop new approaches to create a safer world.

It will cover a wide range of topics including safer oceans, the role of safety in accelerating progress towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals, wellbeing in the workplace, understanding risk, and resilience.

To convey these topics in their more simplistic form we created a concept based on ‘shining a spotlight’ on the issues at hand. The spotlight in each instance is through the lens of 8 separate tinted icons which we have adapted from the original work we did for Lloyd’s Register Foundation (LRF) on their Strategic plan and Challenge campaign. We also created additional ones to ensure we had a unique ‘spotlight’ for each topic that will be covered at the conference.

The graphics below, show the concept at entry-level, as they will be evolved to form the visual collateral for the conference itself. For now, these are being used by LRF on their conference web page and on their social media posts to promote the event and to get registrations of interest.

We have created a looping video where the eight topics and their accompanying tinted spotlight icons come together to create an intriguing short video. This currently has pride of place on the website header but we will be expanding on this with additional content to create a standalone video to help promote the event further.

More social media post graphics, including speaker templates when they are announced, plus other promotional and support materials will be generated by us over the coming months. We will also be working with LRF and Southbank, their events company, on the large format graphics and wayfinding which will be key to a successful event in the amazing space available at Old Billingsgate.

The conference will also be an opportunity for Lloyd’s Register to celebrate 10 years of the Foundation and its mission of engineering a safer world. You can read more about the conference event here.
