Name, brand and website created for innovative ingredients platform: EggsChange

We’re proud to announce the launch of the new brand and website we created for EggsChange, which included the naming exercise. EggsChange is a specialist networking directory connecting food manufacturers, product developers and ingredient suppliers working in egg reduction and replacement. Developed in partnership with RSSL (Reading Scientific Services Ltd), following our previous collaboration on NFX UK, the platform provides a central hub for ingredient discovery, industry knowledge sharing and supplier engagement.

Creating a brand from the ground up

The project began with a naming exercise where we worked closely with the client team to explore a range of naming routes. After several rounds of development, we agreed on EggsChange for the name, and a strap-line that clearly defines the sector while allowing room for the platform to evolve over time. We looked at different concepts, terminology and approaches that could balance scientific credibility with accessibility.

Structuring the website

At the heart of the website is a structured directory of egg replacement and reduction ingredients, linked to their suppliers.

The directory is built to cross categorise ingredients by application, function, dietary requirements and other key attributes. This creates a flexible filtering system that helps users quickly identify relevant ingredients. As the directory grows, this navigation will be a powerful tool to reduce a large and diverse range of ingredients to a small number of very specific results.

A bespoke member-driven system

A key project requirement was enabling suppliers to contribute directly to the platform rather than relying on manual administration.

A simple registration process allows suppliers to apply to join the website before listing their ingredients. We also have the beginnings of a knowledge hub, featuring industry events and supplier insights. Over time, this will combine to help position EggsChange as both a practical tool and an industry resource.

Behind the scenes, a structured workflow manages validation, moderation and publishing states, ensuring submissions can be reviewed before publication while keeping the process efficient for contributors.

From a technical perspective, particular attention was given to content ownership, editing permissions and approval workflows, creating a balance between user flexibility and administrative control.

The result

EggsChange is now live as a dedicated platform for egg alternative innovation, bringing together a structured ingredient directory, supplier network and growing knowledge hub within a single online platform.
