Website launch for The Bezos Centre for Sustainable Protein – Imperial College London

We’re excited to share the launch of the new website for Imperial College London’s Bezos Centre for Sustainable Protein, a forward-looking initiative driving innovation at the intersection of science, sustainability and food systems. The website was designed to reflect the Centre’s mission to accelerate alternative protein research, translate discoveries into real-world impact, and connect a global ecosystem of researchers, industry partners and educators. A website for a global online research community

The Bezos Centre is at the forefront of tackling some of the world’s most pressing challenges, from climate change to food security, by transforming how protein is produced and consumed. Their work spans cutting-edge research into fermentation, plant-based and cultivated proteins, industry translation, education programmes and global network building.

Our goal was to translate this complex, interdisciplinary mission into a digital experience that feels clear, inspiring and easily navigable for a wide audience: academics, industry collaborators, prospective students, policymakers and curious members of the public.

Bringing focus to science with our concept and messaging

To give the website visual depth and focus, we developed a custom glass effect that appears across key sections of the site. This subtle, layered visual style helps to highlight the global challenges, delving into the detail with impactful visuals.

Focusing on key photography of lab environments, nature and innovation brings visual interest, supporting complex topics and suggests real-world impact.

This effect was applied thoughtfully to create a sense of transparency and magnification, juxtaposing big global topics with micro details, a design metaphor for the Centre’s work: revealing the future of food systems and inviting audiences in to explore further.

Supporting a broad body of content from multiple stake-holders

The website brings together a wide range of content that reflects the depth and ambition of the Centre’s work. From clearly communicating the mission and vision behind the initiative, to presenting the Centre’s research and translation activities in an accessible way, the structure of the site was designed to help visitors quickly understand both the science and its real-world applications.

Dedicated sections highlight education opportunities, including MRes and PhD programmes that are helping to train the next generation of sustainable protein innovators, while ecosystem and partnership content showcases the global network of collaborators working together to drive progress across academia and industry.

Flexible adaptable and future proof CMS

Using WordPress + Elementor gave our client a flexible, easy-to-manage platform that supports growth, whether launching new programme pages, adding news and events, or sharing case studies from their expanding global community.

The result is a website that not only looks polished but serves as a valuable resource for anyone passionate about a sustainable, science-led food future.

After a successful launch at the Bezos Centre’s 2026 Annual Conference in London this month, we’re looking forward to helping develop the website further… watch this space.
