Live meets virtual unveiling of Meta royal plaque

Our first project for Meta has been time challenging but a great example of teamwork and collaboration. Only a few days before the official royal opening of their new offices in Kings Cross on the 30th March, we were asked if we could produce a film and video of the royal plaque for HRH Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, to reveal on a huge 48:9 digital screen.

In super quick time, we organised filming at their great offices of a temporary plaque and walkthrough of their stunning art-filled reception. We’ve used Film Farmers a few times on our work for JAGS, so knew they could deliver. At the same time our head of animation and film, Joe Cook, worked on an animated curtain reveal and liaised with 3D specialists Low Tide to produce a 3D render of a life like digital plaque over the weekend. With all the elements coming together we then distilled this down with the client to a few options, including exploration of licenced music tracks for the score – no time for original music… With some on-screen tests and a shortlist of the tracks, we did need our sound engineer contact of music duo Fika to do a light edit of the music to create a more elevated sign-off. All approved the morning of the opening and job done – it just needed Prince Charles to press ‘like’ and all was revealed.
